The second half of the day devoted to the video game sector will explore the industry’s overriding trends. A representative of Telltale Games will share his views on storytelling, an area in which the studio excels, and the president of France eSport will talk about the explosive momentum surrounding the eSports phenomenon. An effervescence shared by the fast-growing mobile gaming industry. A global leader in market data on mobile devices, AppAnnie will chat with the head of the International Digital Entertainment Agency about the vital role that metrics play in mobile gaming. And the founder of Joju Games will be on hand to discuss the indie phenomenon in the video game sector. The afternoon’s proceedings will begin with an introduction from the president of France’s national video game trade association (SNJV).

Surviving 11 years as an independent studio

Joju Games was founded in June of 2005, with lofty goals and dreams. Some of those goals have been achieved, but many things have changed in the industry since we started. We have survived the PC Downloads demise, the crash and burn of Java phone games, the end of Social Gaming, and we are now at the cusp of an implosion in mobile gaming. We survived because we adapted ourselves to the new realities. In this talk, Juan Gril, Studio Manager, will give a review of the lessons learned, and his view of the industry.
