VP of European Affairs, Liberty Global
Chris Hutchins is Vice President European Policy for Liberty Global B.V., a pan European investor and operator of cable TV businesses in 11 European markets – www.lgi.com He is responsible for the Brussels public policy team, and for managing LGI’s relationships with EU policy makers, regulators and industry stakeholders.
Mr Hutchins has held several regulatory and legal positions within LGI and predecessor companies since joining them in 2000. He is chairman of the Cable Europe regulatory group, the pan European cable trade association based in Brussels and vice-chairman of the digital economy committee of the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU (AMCHAM). He began his career at Burson Marsteller, the global public affairs consultancy, before joining DG Employment affairs of the European Commission in a press and information capacity.
Mr Hutchins holds a BA degree in Politics from Loughborough University, a post-graduate diploma in EC competition law from King’s College London, and in LLM in telelcommunications and IT law from Strathclyde University.
