Mike Dicks: Head of Development, Illumina Limited. Mike has been involved in a number of high-profile crossover productions in a role he likes to describe as a New Media Impresario, generating ideas and bringing together the - all-important - finance, creative and technical talent to create entertaining content for TV and the web. In recent years, Mike has had a guiding hand in a number of mixed media projects such as: - Fightbox – a major BBC3/2 TV series combining the competitive world of online gaming with the TV style of Robot Wars. - Wannabes – a new interactive drama serial in production with BBC online. - SportsWorld - a new real/virtual racing system from Scalextric. - Breaking the News – extending the Channel 4 newsroom into 12 classrooms. Mike is currently developing a number of augmented reality formats with leading edge technology companies in Europe for his contacts in US children’s broadcasting as well as heading up development of Illumina’s key multi-format concepts for education and entertainment.
