Sandrine Lafont is an expert engineer with nearly 30 years of experience in space activities. She joined CNES, the French Space Agency in 1989. She worked successively in Earth Observation, Navigation and Telecommunications fields, thus covering the main spatial domains offering usefull solutions to citizens needs. She started her carrer in satellite system design, notably in support to the European Commission for the design of Galileo navigation system. She is now part of the CNES directorate for Competitiveness and Development, which is in charge of supporting space industry competitivity, as well as global french economical developement thanks to space-based solutions. She is more specifically in charge of markets, services and usages topics in the Telecommunications domain. This includes in particular the fair usage of satellite technology to ensure internet access to any house or professionnal facility across french territories.
